Trifecta at Pickleball Ontario Western Regional by winning Gold, Silver and Bronze!

This week, the Western Regional Championship hosted by Pickleball Ontario in Cambridge came to a successful conclusion. As one of the key pathways to the Ontario Provincial Championships, winners in each division earned direct qualification, attracting a strong field of competitors from across the province.

Our #1 mixed doubles team, Anran and Doubao, competed in the 4.0 Mixed Doubles division on Saturday 💥

On Sunday, Anran wasted no time returning to the court, partnering with Annie Laflamme in Women's Doubles. The pair fought their way into the final, and after two days of intense competition, narrowly fell short in a best-of-three championship match, earning a well-deserved silver medal 🥈

What makes this silver medal even more impressive is that Anran and Annie only recently began playing together. With limited time to develop chemistry and strategy, their result speaks volumes about both their talent and potential 💪

By the end of the weekend, Anran had contributed one gold and one silver medal to the Lynx—truly a medal machine 🏅✨

And that's not all! Vice Captain Bob and "Flying Man" David captured the bronze medal in Men's Doubles. And they did it in the highly competitive 4.5 division—the toughest battleground in the tournament. Reaching the podium at that level is an incredible accomplishment and deserves tremendous respect 👊

But perhaps the most exciting story belongs to our youngest member, 11-year-old George. Partnering with Beibei in mixed doubles, George delivered performances that far exceeded his age. Just take a look at their scores.

After the matches, opponents went out of their way to praise him—not out of courtesy, but out of genuine admiration. At just 11 years old, this is only the beginning.

At the rate he is developing, George could very well become one of the most exciting young players in Ontario in his age group within the next one or two years. The future isn't something to wait for—he's already on his way.

Two days. Three medals. And a rising star.

The Lynx never shy away from tough battles.

We were built for them. 🐾
